Why do you think this foundation should be philamplified?
For an organization that has with more than 1,200 local United Way offices throughout the country and pride themselves on ending homelessness in America, they have failed. The LA office alone has over $500,000,000, that's half a billion dollars yet homelessness is the highest in the country. I'd like them to start giving to smaller nonprofits. Why only give to nonprofits that have been around 5+ years? Such a catch-22. Just look at their financials for 2014 http://www.unitedwayla.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/2013-2014-Financial-Statement.pdf. The numbers there don't add up with the amount that has actually be allocated to them from other government agencies (estimated $.5+ B) http://nextcity.org/daily/entry/la-homeless-skid-row-computer-services ($214 M) and ($413 M) from the mayor of LA. -- Guest
